Bud's Gun Shop
Just thought I'd share a recent experience with Budsgunshop.com.
Right after the "election," I ordered a Butler Creek speed loader for my AR mags and a Cammenga loader for my AK mags. I also threw in a couple of things that I'd been putting off getting in order to justify the shipping. Well, a couple of days later, I get an email saying that my order is pending cancellation because they're out of the speed loaders. They want me to contact them and tell them what I want them to do. Naturally, getting through on the phone was impossible. So I emailed them, and told them to cancel the whole order since the speed loaders were all I really wanted anyway. But I told them that since they already have my money, if they'd be willing to send me 5 double-star AR mags for the trouble (the good ones with the Mag-Pul follower), I'd be willing to call it even. Of course the 5 five mags cost about $6 more than my original order, and I fully expected them to decline the offer. They emailed me back, saying they would delete the speed loaders off of my order, add the AR mags, and my new total was $113. Well, that's not what I wanted, but hell, I figured that at least I'm getting 5 more mags I would have been smart to order anyway, so I send them the additional $34. The next day I check my order status, and the total is backed down to the original $79. I'm not sure what's going on, but I understand how crazy the situation is, and I'm willing to sit back and see what happens. Two days later, the 5 Double-Star mags show up in a box. The next day, all the additional crap I ordered at the time I ordered the speed loaders shows up. Then, a week later, a check from Bud's for the additional $34 comes in the mail. In short, I sent Bud's a total of $79. They sent me about $85 in mags, plus the $34 worth of stuff I ordered with the speed loaders. In my brief time dealing with these online dealers, I've found a quote from someone here to be quite appropriate. That quote goes, "Everything's fine until it isn't." Classic. I found that out with one dealer who sent me the wrong mags. Acted like there was no way they could have screwed up, and then told me I had to send the shit back on my dime so they could look at it and see for themselves if they really screwed up. In all fairness, they could have told me to piss up a rope, but while they did send me the new mags, they never offered me any compensation to offset the time and money I had to spend getting their mistake fixed. Anyway, I just thought Bud's deserved some props here. They could have just sent what they had along with a check to cover the out-of-stock items I paid for, but they went the extra mile to not only make sure I was satisfied with my order, but to send me a little extra for my trouble. I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Bud's with no problems whatsoever, but it sure is nice to deal with a place where "everything's fine, even when it isn't." |
Re: Bud's Gun Shop
Right after the selection, when the run on guns was in full swing I ordered a 308 SPS-T from them at the cheapest price I found ANYWHERE - and the last one they had in stock too. Spoke to them on the phone before and after ordering. Always got thru but they were really busy. My order went without a hitch and arrived at my FFL a few days later. Very smooth and they really sent out emails as my order was processed thru each stage. I am very happy with the purchase experience and service I got from Bud's Gunshop.
